Investigations

We are frequently asked by clients to conduct complex and/or sensitive investigations. Our methodology is to conduct an objective and balanced investigation that will enable decision-makers to come to reasoned decisions that are difficult to challenge and which also support or restore the parties’ trust and confidence going forward.

Our investigators are highly experienced and are typically (although not exclusively) experienced employment lawyers who have conducted investigations in this capacity.

Having a lawyer conduct an investigation can often lend the process more credibility in the parties’ eyes: particularly where those involved are at a senior level.

Our investigators are experienced at putting interviewees at their ease, thereby ensuring their evidence is more readily given and that the individuals concerned understand and feel comfortable with their position.

Our guiding principles when conducting investigations are:

We will agree with the client instructing us whether they require a written report following the investigation process.  Frequently the notes of interviews may suffice, perhaps together with a meeting between the investigator and any decision-maker.
