Diversity and inclusion

image of team talkingThe sessions that we do in this area differ greatly.  Much depends upon the client’s approach and goals and what stage they have reached in the implementation.  Following a top down model, we usually start with the most senior leaders.  Once this group is engaged in the subject matter, further work can continue.

Initially though this senior group must understand the essence of diversity – valuing everyone as an individual.

Some of our sessions incorporate something of the liability and risk focus, the anti-discrimination framework and what that means in practice.  Other sessions don’t and are centred on the corrosive effects of exclusion and/or the real, concrete benefits for the business of individuals feeling included, valued and supported.

In this area we have frequently used innovative actor based learning to appeal to participants on an emotional level.  We have found the testimony of well researched characters to be extremely powerful.
