Workplace mediation

We absolutely believe that many of the seemingly intractable problems that develop in workplaces could have been avoided or ameliorated if an experienced workplace mediator had been introduced to the parties at an early stage in the development of the dispute.

For this to work the mediator needs to have total credibility and to be perceived as neutral and entirely professional; this will enable a relationship of trust to be built with both parties. Once those relationships are built, conflict resolution work can commence.

For our workplace mediations we provide hugely experienced and credible workplace mediators, usually experienced employment lawyers who have also qualified as mediators. They have highly developed conflict resolution skills.

All of our workplace practitioners are experienced mediators and they will be using skills learnt in this environment.  However, it is important that our work in this area is not just seen as mediation.  There has to be a flexibility of approach.  The earlier we are involved, the greater the need for fact finding, exploring and building trust.

Workplace mediation is a growing area of focus, much is written and said about it.  We are in the vanguard of that movement.  However, we recognise that a mediation can only happen when two parties recognise that there is a dispute and they are both in the mindset to resolve that dispute.  We frequently get involved before that point.  This is why we tend to call our approach early reconciliation.
