Our Mission

‘Working alongside our clients to help create better workplaces’

We use our skills and experience of challenging workplace situations to help create working environments where everyone feels valued and included so that they, and the organisation, can thrive. We know that this will also reduce risk.

We attract excellent people with coalface experience advising on employment problems and engage them in high quality, challenging work to bring about positive and constructive cultural change through a variety of different interventions.

Through the different aspects of our work we help employers create, embed and maintain sustainable, lasting workplace culture change.

Our Values

Making a difference – We care about creating better workplaces, helping our clients engage their people – protecting them from risk.  We encourage and equip people to be accountable for the environment they create around them at work. We challenge the status quo and strive for impact and effectiveness in everything we do.

Doing what’s right – We work with the highest standards of  probity. We offer innovative solutions that best answer our clients’ problems rather than easy answers. We’re uncomfortable rolling out standard products and helping people tick boxes.  If the solution does not need to involve us, we will tell you.

Work in its proper place – We love what we do and when we are working, work is the most important thing in our lives.  We provide exceptional service and enable our team to meet our clients’ high expectations by allowing them to balance the competing priorities in their lives. Commitment and contribution during working time are what matters.

Connecting with people – We connect with our team and our team connect with the people they work with.  We listen to what people are actually saying, we value their contribution, we respect them.  We build constructive connections that inspire and enable people to change their workplaces.  With each other and in our work with clients we want everyone to know that their contribution is valuable and valued.  We want people to feel able to bring their whole selves to their work and we challenge them to make the best use of their whole selves in their work.

Our People

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the training you delivered earlier this week. I’ve attended sessions held by you before, and have always found them to be engaging, pitched at the right level and with the right content. It’s always too easy to switch off at certain training sessions, and this certainly wasn’t one!!

Nick, VP at Global Investment Bank

byrne·dean continue to provide highly engaging and professional training support for our Director and Managing Director populations around the world. The feedback on their courses is consistently excellent.

Dominic Johnson, Organisation Effectiveness & Employee Relations Director for Barclays Global Retail Banking.

It’s a great personal feeling when business colleagues and leaders give you high praise and thanks for learning interventions. That’s what you get when you engage byrne∙dean!

Fiona Pizzey, Diversity Manager, RBC Wealth Management, Royal Bank of Canada

byrne·dean is a valued partner in creating and delivering programmes that address some of the most relevant, but often overlooked, issues in the financial world today. We have great faith in their integrity and professionalism.

Sheila Cork, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Limited, Head of HR EMEA

I have worked with byrne·dean for many years and always feel confident with their approach – commercial, pragmatic and engaging. I have recommended them to clients on numerous occasions and we have used them successfully internally as well.

Julian Taylor, Simmons & Simmons, Partner

In my 5 years at Argos, I have seen many presentations on a multitude of different topics, but few stick out as being memorable.  Yours did, and will for a long time to come.  You spoke to people “on the level”…..  you were inspirational, powerful, and thought-provoking.  Even with a big group, you found a way to give everyone an opportunity to personally connect with your content, and to reflect on their own behaviours and beliefs.

Nick Marsh, Senior Development Manager, Sainsbury’s Argos, End-to-End Customer Experience

Victoria engaged everyone in the room.  One of her key strengths was being able to challenge and probe appropriately and very effectively.  We received excellent feedback across the firm and we are already seeing the impact of this training programme.  We would have no hesitation in working with Byrne Dean again in the future.

Louise Zekaria, Head of Inclusion and CSR Macfarlanes LLP

I would highly recommend byrne·dean.  I have worked with Matt Dean for over 18 years and honestly think they are the most impactful trainers around on the topic.  They were all employment lawyers and their style I have found really resonates with the types of audiences we work with.  They are very skilled at not just delivering a message but helping people to understand inclusion and their impact on others (intended or otherwise).
