Workplace investigation services.

When a serious concern is raised, how it is investigated matters enormously. We conduct thorough, independent workplace investigations that establish the facts, manage risk and stand up to scrutiny.

Thorough, impartial and proportionate.

Our investigations are designed to establish facts clearly, assess risk accurately and provide robust, defensible findings. We balance rigour with fairness, protect confidentiality throughout and make sure everyone involved feels heard and respected.

Senior legal expertise and a trauma-informed approach.

All of our investigations team are senior former employment lawyers with extensive experience of sensitive, high stakes investigations. We understand the legal framework, but also the human reality. We are trained in trauma-informed approaches, including in cases involving sexual misconduct and harassment, and we handle every investigation with the discretion and care that sensitive matters demand. Where a situation would be better resolved through mediation or facilitated conversation rather than formal process, our workplace mediation service can help.

Independent investigations when the stakes are high.

There are times when an internal investigation is not the right route: where there is a conflict of interest, where the seniority or sensitivity of those involved demands independence, where internal capacity or expertise is stretched, or where the risk of getting it wrong is simply too high. In those situations, an external, expert nvestigator protects both the individuals involved and the organisation.

We investigate concerns including:

  • Harassment and bullying
  • Discrimination
  • Misconduct and dishonesty
  • Non-financial misconduct and conduct risk
  • Grievances and disciplinaries
  • Ethics and speak up disclosures
  • Management and board level concerns
My experience with byrne·dean was excellent. They were professional, directed, cost conscious, and performed the tasks they were given with sensitivity and objectivity. They handled a challenging assignment in a timely fashion, within budget and produced a work product that exceeded our expectations.
