Together with so many around the world, we condemn the countless acts of racism and violence against Black people brought to light by the killing of George Floyd. We acknowledge this cruelty and injustice and we stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

byrne·dean’s work has always been grounded in the principles of kindness and fairness; to help organisations empower their people to have difficult conversations, to challenge and to shine a light on systemic bias in workplaces. As the CEO of a D&I consultancy, I have written many times supporting our Purpose, but I have never wholly centered on racism. I recognise it has been my fear at saying the wrong thing and questioning my entitlement to share my voice that has led to this silence. If we are silent we are complicit. But no more.

byrne·dean is committed to the fight to end racism. We stand for and will champion the change needed to achieve equality, respect, inclusion and diversity. Right now we believe it is a time to listen attentively. We all have much to learn. But as changemakers, we will use our platform and our connections in predominantly white organisations to advocate for change. We will use our position to help our clients and others within our sphere of influence recognise their privilege, walk towards their discomfort and fear, and equip them to have meaningful conversations that bring about real change.

We are working on programmes, tools and guidance to be available with donations towards Amos Bursary or the charity or non profit organisation of your choice supporting this fight. We will share details very soon.
